Cushman & Wakefield is an accredited member of Supply Nation. We have adopted and implemented several procurement initiatives targeting engagement of small and medium Indigenous enterprises. In 2017 Cushman & Wakefield was a major sponsor of the Supply Nation’s Connect event – the largest gathering of Indigenous owned businesses taking place at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

Leveraging our role in the real estate community Cushman & Wakefield is in a strong position to make a real difference – particularly in helping to close the social and educational inequity gap experienced by Indigenous Australians. We are fully committed to working in partnership with Indigenous Australians, Governments and Community to meet the targets identified within the Coalition of Australian Government’s Closing the Gap strategy and in creating a real increase in social and economic opportunities for Indigenous businesses and job seekers.

Since 2015, Cushman & Wakefield in partnership with our clients has spent approximately $25 million with Indigenous businesses across our supply chain.

AFL Sportsready Program
In 2015 Cushman & Wakefield created a partnership with AFLSportsready to engage two Indigenous trainees in Melbourne, working on behalf of one of our key financial clients. The trainees joined in a full-time capacity as Guest Service Agents and as part of the traineeship completed a Certificate 4 in Business Administration over a 12-month period. The trainees have been outstanding, bringing diversity of thought and opinion and contributing to the overall success of the contract.
Following on this success, Cushman & Wakefield has now engaged a further three Indigenous trainees for the same client in Sydney. Each of the trainees will complete a Certificate 3 in Business Administration over a 12-month period. We have also employed a Facilities Coordinator Administration in our Sydney office, who is completing a Certificate 4 in Business Administration.

NRL Cowyboys House
Cushman & Wakefield is delighted to be a Founding Friend of the NRL Cowboys House program which is a boarding and educational facility enabling Indigenous students from remote North Queensland communities to attend secondary school in Townsville. Our partnership will help NRL Cowboys House support the students in achieving their goals in their educational and extra-curricular pursuits.
We are excited to be able to positively impact the lives of young Indigenous Australians. We see the educational opportunities being provided to young North Queenslanders from remote communities as being an exceptional way to create positive change in the community. We look forward to a continued partnership with NRL Cowboys House and seeing the stories of these young men unfold.
