The Challenge

The environments and facilities require continuation of services 24/7. The plant maintained includes 11kV generators, large central plant chillers, pumps and dosing systems, fume cupboards and lighting control systems that support eight buildings across the campus and 10,000+ assets. We operate and maintain assets across the whole campus precinct, all of which have their own access requirements and processes.



The Solution

The Cushman & Wakefield team based on site are some of our most highly skilled and experienced technicians and they are responsible for maintaining environments and facilities that require continuation of services at all times. The services we deliver to the University of Auckland include:

  • Air conditioning
  • General electrical
  • General mechanical
  • Plumbing, gas and drainage
  • Building and carpentry
  • Coordination and site management of nominated University subcontractors.


The Results

Evidence of the performance, appeal, and flexibility of our self-delivery trade services capability is the renewal of the Grafton Campus contract at the end of term 1, agreed with the University following a Cushman & Wakefield proposal to revise the operating model and site-based team structure.

Additionally, Cushman & Wakefield were also awarded the building services maintenance contract for the University’s Accommodation portfolio. This encompasses 25 multi-story accommodation buildings and more than 1,900 beds. A fully dedicated, site-based handyman supported by a team of specialised trades will manage the day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance tasks and local client relationships. A dedicated helpdesk champion and administration team support our on-site team.
