The Challenge

Accessable supports people to live their best life in their own home or community, and is regarded as a specialist leader in providing healthcare solutions by managing government contracts to provide health and disability equipment and modifications to homes and vehicles. Cushman & Wakefield plays a critical role in supporting Accessable to attain outstanding results, undertaking housing alterations and modifications in Auckland and Northland.

Accessable requires Cushman & Wakefield services to facilitate building modifications for clients to assist them in living within their own homes and continue working in their current workplaces. Accessable seeks technical advice and support from Cushman & Wakefield when reviewing proposals, and technical solutions and outcomes when building alterations are required


The Solution

The Cushman & Wakefield team dedicated to this contract consist of a selection of highly skilled and experienced technicians, who are responsible for understanding the specific mobility needs of each client and their residential or workplace dwelling. 

Typical services provided to Accessable include:

-       Air conditioning

-       Electrical

-       Plumbing, gas and drainage

-       Building and carpentry such as ramps, door widening, grabrails and bathroom renovations

-       Civil works

-       Project coordination and site management



The Results

Cushman & Wakefield transitioned into this contract primarily with ACC-related projects and, over time, have added the ACC minor works to the portfolio, whilst currently working with Accessable to further transition into the Ministry of Health workload. This opportunity with the client started from a single project undertaken in 2017 and led to the execution of this evergreen contract in May 2018.

Evidence of the performance, appeal, and flexibility of Cushman & Wakefield’s self-delivery trade services capability is found in the expansion of the dedicated Accessable team and increased scope of works over time.

Accessable has also provided positive feedback about Cushman & Wakefield’s robust health and safety policies, procedures and general approach to safe work methodologies and implementation, including pre-start meetings and site inductions.
