In a major coup supporting its national growth strategy, Cushman & Wakefield has announced the appointment of Joshua Charles as Managing Director, Capital Markets - Australia and Managing Director - New South Wales (NSW).
Mr Charles will head the state’s leasing and agency business while significantly bolstering Cushman & Wakefield’s leadership ranks nationally.
A 20-year veteran of the Australian commercial property market, Joshua has worked with CBRE for the past 10 years, sitting on the NSW Executive Committee and overseeing the operation of the Australia and New Zealand industrial business.
An industry leader, Mr Charles was also President of the Commercial Chapter of the Real Estate Institute of NSW from 2007 to 2012.
Cushman & Wakefield Managing Director Australia David Woolford said the appointment is a significant boost to Cushman & Wakefield’s position in Australia at a time when the company is enjoying robust growth both nationally and globally.
“Joshua is a highly respected and capable industry operator and his vast knowledge, experience and track record aligns with our strategic growth focus in Australia,” said Mr Woolford.
“He adds further strength to the leadership team on the back of Angus Harvey Ross’s recent appointment as head of Corporate Occupier Services and Domenic Belmonte as head of Asset Services. As we leverage the strength of Cushman &Wakefield’s global platform and systems, these new appointments support our growth agenda in Australia as we enter a new and exciting phase,” he said.
Cushman & Wakefield, the world’s largest privately held commercial real estate services firm, recently reported a gross revenue increase of 21.9% to a record $2,498.6 million for the year ended December 31, 2013, compared with $2,050.1 million for the prior year.
