Leading global commercial real estate services firm, Cushman & Wakefield, today announced that is has further strengthened its Melbourne executive leasing team, with the appointment of Ben Ward to the position of Director and joint head of office leasing.
Cushman & Wakefield has continued to expand its Melbourne office leasing team in response to strong tenant demand, with restricted supply of core CBD stock continuing to place downward pressure on vacancies.
Ben joins Cushman & Wakefield alongside Chas Keogh as joint head of the Melbourne office leasing team and brings with him over 17 years experience in the property sector. Most recently, Ben was the senior director of office leasing for Knight Frank, after spending 17 years with the organisation in a range of roles.
Ben will be responsible for managing the office leasing assignments for Cushman & Wakefield’s key institutional and private clients in Melbourne, and will leverage his experience working with clients including: The GPT Group, Mirvac, Charter Hall, Lasalle Investment Management, Dexus, AMP, and CBUS Property.
Previously, Ben has advised blue chip clients on leasing requirements for new developments and around major refurbishment programs in key CBD locations. This includes recent major transactions such as 570 Bourke Street, 90 Collins Street, 360 Elizabeth Street, 222 Exhibition Street and 555 Lonsdale Street. The recent appointment is part of an overall expansion of Cushman & Wakefield’s leasing business in Melbourne, and follows the recent appointment this month of Ben Tremellen to the role of national director of retail leasing.
Commenting on the appointment, Cushman & Wakefield Chief Executive, James Patterson, said: “We are pleased to welcome Ben to the office leasing team as we further expand our capabilities in the Melbourne market. Ben’s experience, in addition to our existing platform, will provide invaluable support to our clients in helping them achieve their optimal leasing outcomes.
“We have continued to grow Cushman & Wakefield’s Melbourne leasing business across key segments, with Ben’s appointment following the recent expansion of our retail leasing platform.”
Ben Ward commented: “I am excited to be joining Cushman & Wakefield at a critical time in the growth of the Melbourne office leasing business. The leasing environment in Melbourne is changing rapidly, and I look forward to working with our clients to develop innovative ways to address their needs.”
